I think it should be used for people like serial killer and people that murder on purpose. people who kill innocent random people for no reason,not for accidental ones like a car accidents.
I believe that if you kill one person then no you should not have the death penalty but you you go an kill like 20 people than yes but if someone killed some one i loved i would want them to root in jail for the rest of there life's.!!!! not be put to death that's taking the easy way out.

I believe that it shouldn't, because death isn't really a punishment, unless you know you are going to die. But then again knowing you'll die is the only punishment out of that. Things like life in solitary should be more common depending on the offense. Solitary gives you a feeling of great loneliness. Death, is more of a release from a world as bad as the one we live in now. Unless hell is a real place and your soul is sent there. Then that would be bad.
Honestly I am for and against the death penalty. Certain people do tragic things to someone and take their lives so it's viewed as a life for a life, but sometimes people are wrongly convicted and put to death for something they did not do. Also some who are just tried in court does not guarantee they will not kill again. So as for the question I feel it depends on the situation or the level of the crime. The death penalty can be necessary in certain cases and others not.

I think that death penalty should be used people who take a life because it is not right to kill somebody. Ending a family members' life can lead to a family killing the person who killed him/her.
I don't think the death penalty should be used. If someone goes to jail, insted of putting them up for the death sentence just keep the person in jail. The won't be out killing people but they won't be dead if they were innocent. While the person is in jail (if their innocent) they can tell someone they know to get a lawyer to fight their case and get them out.

Like if they killed alot of people then yes they shoutld be put to death . but if they killed one person or sumthin not as bad as that then no i think a long long time in jail should be a bad enough punishment because that person has to live with the guilt forever i think thats a good enough punishment.

I believe the death penalty is a cruel and unusual punishment. When we first started talking about it, I disliked the idea. I didn't care who the person was or what they did. If the person did commit a bad enough crime they should suffer. Now that I am understanding the concept more, I am beginning to be okay with the idea. I am still against it in some ways, but I also think that if it is to give the other families closure, then it should be okay. I still don't like it though. Also the "you decide" website made me think more about how the family is feeling about the criminal.

I THINK that sometimes people shouldn't get a dealth penalty. I think people 18 & older should get it. But at the same time they should because say if somebody did something horrible to my little brother I would want somebody to do something bad to somebody. So i'm kind of on both sides. But if it was for robbing a bank or something, they should just be put into jail for a long time.

Say for instance 1st degree murder that person should be put in prison on the death penalty because that is taking one persons life and if that persons life wasnt worth it to them then that persons life isnt worth it at all. I think that, that person should suffer and leave his/her life living in a jail cell and knowing that he/she will never get out so he has the rest of his/her life to think about what he/she has done to the person they murdered and their family they hurt.
I dont think the government has the right to kill any human. I think that the government should first figure out the evidence instead of just accusing people. but if they did do it they should get a life time in jail.
